New Year, New Style Byko Work

So, 2023 is upon us and we’re all excited to find out what it has in store for us. But if you’re anything like us, a few weeks stuck at home watching movies and eating too much will have led you to notice all the things about your house that you don’t like.

You know, things like that torn bit of wallpaper or the half-finished paint job in the downstairs loo. You may have even commented that you “really must get on with fixing it in the new year”. But who are you trying to kid?

You don’t have time in your life for decorating. And even if you did, you haven’t got all the tools. Plus, something will probably come up on the weekend you plan to do it and you’ll end up with painting and decorating supplies sitting in the shed until August Bank Holiday.

Well, you can relax. At Byko we specialise in painting and decorating in Leicester and the surrounding areas. So, why not let us take care of any decorating, plastering, or building jobs for you. We’re professional, polite and proud perfectionists.

Whatever the job, big or small, we’ll help get your new year off to the right start.

Do You Need Planning Permission for a Loft Conversion?

Building a loft conversion is a relatively quick way to add extra living space and value to your home. The most popular use for a loft conversion is as a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. But it can also provide a self-contained children’s play area, office, games room, or anything else you want or need.

Since 2008, for a loft conversion to not require planning permission, it must:

Not exceed the volume allowance of 40 cubic meters of additional space for terraced houses or 50 cubic meters for detached and semi-detached houses. Any previous roof space additions must be included within this volume allowance – even if created by a previous owner.

Not have any dormers or extensions on the roof plane of the principal (front) elevation facing the road.

Not contain any extension higher than the highest part of the roof

Be constructed with materials similar in appearance to the existing house.

Have obscure-glazed side-facing windows for any opening 1.7m above the floor

If you’re considering a loft conversion in Leicester or the surrounding areas and want to discuss the legalities or logistics of it, call Byko.

Bathroom and Kitchen Fitters Leicester

We all want a home that looks like a happy blissful place. A house becomes a home only when there is ample lighting and proper maintenance. If you have bought a new house and are looking forward to transforming it into a happy home of your choice, you should definitely go for good Bathroom Fitters Leicester. Making a good choice of fitters and an installation company can help you get a range of advantages.

Why do you need good fittings and installations?

You may go for a company that is offering you lighting or tiling installation at unbelievably cheap rates, but you need to think before you finalize a deal.  How would you know whether it’s a good company or not? Here are a few points that you should consider-

Their years of experience
Their past record
Their previous work and its quality
Reviews about them

Also, make sure that the company you are choosing for this purpose is extensive enough to provide Kitchen Fitters Leicester service apart from Bathroom Fitters Leicester

Whether you are choosing to get these services in a new home or getting remodelling of an older home, you need to understand the importance of proper installation. Since these services are not everyday tasks, therefore, you need to make a right decision.

Usually, the services like tiling, fitting and lighting installation are once-in-a-year. Therefore, it is wise to take the decisions that pay off well.

Remember, it is more important to choose a good service provider, rather than a really cheap provider. Make sure that you have visited their workstation and seen the quality of their work. Bargain, if you can because there is also a scope of negotiation. Strike the best deal and then, go for whatever fittings and fixtures you need!
